About Robin Renoth

With my M.Sc. in Sustainable Management, my passion for sustainable practices has been ingrained. Geothermal energy, as a renewable energy source, containts immense potential. I am particularly fascinated by its decentralized extraction possibilities and baseload capability. At the start of my doctoral project, geothermal energy was somehow underrepresented in German discussions, prompting me to do research on its potential and associated opportunities. Achieving social acceptance is crucial for a successful implementation of geothermal projects. The topic of social acceptance in geothermal energy research includes numerous questions due to its versatility and complexity. To gain insights, I started by conducting a literature review, analyzing 50 international scientific publications from 2011 to 2021. This led to the identification of five acceptance categories and 33 acceptance factors. The results are not only overwhelming but, above all, captivating and motivating.
