About Robin Salmon

I am passionate about learning and strive for continual personal and professional growth. I am a former elementary teacher with a decade of cross-cultural experience in Taiwan, Qatar, Northern Manitoba, and Alberta. I completed the Bachelor of Social Work program at the University of Calgary, and I am seeking meaningful experience in this field to further make a difference in the world. I am a registered social worker with the ACSW with experience in non-profits, and have recent experience co-supervising a BSW practicum student. I strive for reflexive practice using a strengths-based, empowering approach that is anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and affirmative of diverse ways of being and living. As a settler, I am committed to furthering reconciliation through ongoing education and humble and respectful collaboration with Indigenous Peoples. I am particularly interested in working with families, older adults, women, children, and within mental health, but open to working and learning within any environment in the social work field.
