About Robin Young

With over 25 years of work experience in international finance, investment and advisory services, Robin Young is an effective leader of multicultural teams, strategic advisor, and innovator. She is currently Director of Colombia Equitable Finance where she oversees the implementation of a US$28 million initiative that has mobilized over US$600 million for small and medium enterprises and producers in Colombia. She is passionate about leveraging private capital and structuring innovative partnerships for economic development. Prior to her current role, Robin was the Senior Principal Global Practice Specialist for DAI, where she led the development of the INVEST project, a $167 million global platform for mobilizing investment for development across sectors and regions. She served as the Senior Investment Adviser for the project, working with partners to identify, structure, and facilitate investments in health, clean energy, water and sanitation, agriculture, and small and growing businesses in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. INVEST mobilized over $1 billion during her tenure. She also provided technical guidance to DAI's global portfolio of investment and financial services projects and engagements, drawing on her expertise in microfinance, blended finance, impact investing, and financial inclusion. She has extensive experience as a dynamic team leader working with investors, financial institutions, multilateral development banks, governments, donors and private sector actors in developing and frontier markets. She has published peer reviewed articles and reports on blended finance and development impact, and is a dynamic speaker at industry events and fora around the globe. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and holds an MBA in Finance from Georgetown University and a BA in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University.
