About Robine Germain

I have always had an affiliation with numbers. I counted everything I could find and was always interested in complex number problems. I was top of the class in mathematics at primary school and secondary school. Hence, I enrolled at Ottawa University in Accounting. I have a Bachelor of Commerce Honors in Accounting. Afterwards, I completed my Charter Professional Accountancy with the province of Ontario. Today, I am a CPA. I still love numbers and complex data to solve problems and support business success. With over 20 years of experience in accounting, I have built a reputation for enhancing the performance of finance departments. Previously as a Finance Manager, I prepared financial reports and statements and prepared forecasts and budgets while leading and collaborating with my team for a range of finance-related tasks. I also analyzed financial information to enable informed decision-making with other Senior Managements. My key successes during my time in this role include: • Reduced overall expenses by 20% by meeting with departmental managers and evaluating their budgets. • I am in the process of enhancing the efficiency of the management accounting process by requesting the implementation of new accounting software. In 2018 I realized I also have a passion for teaching, I teach in the accounting program at St. Lawrence College. I enjoy enriching student lives with my practical hands-on experience. Therefore, I am currently a professor of accounting and program coordinator at St. Lawrence College. I am responsible for curriculum, learning environment, grades, and other educational aspects. As well as student advisement and council for success, program review, timetable review and special events. Specialties: Management accounting, leading students toward their goals, departmental collaboration, and financial reporting.
