Robinson Moore, who is in his 40th year at Lawrence Academy, serves LA as associate head of school. In addition to teaching, advising, and running a service-learning Winterim to the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico, he is a steward of LA traditions and alumni involvement. In his long tenure at the Academy, he has served as the assistant head of school, the assistant head of school for external affairs, director of development, admissions director, director of studies, dorm parent, and coach of soccer, hockey, and lacrosse. While soccer coach in 1985, he invented Bos’n Ball, which is a 2 vs 2 tournament played by boys’ and girls’ teams that has become a school tradition. In his 15 years at the helm of the Development Office, he led a charge to take the LA Annual Fund to up over $1 million, helped fund a new faculty sabbatical program, created a successful senior parent gift drive, established a unique Board of Visitors program, and completed the school’s most ambitious capital campaign for $25 million, Breaking New Ground The son of a former headmaster, Rob grew up at the New Hampton School (NH). He was a dean’s list student and 3-time All-New England soccer player at Bowdoin College before he played professionally in the North American Soccer League. In 2008, he was inducted into the Bowdoin College Athletic Hall of Honor for his accomplishments in soccer and lacrosse, and in 2021, he was honored with an induction into the New Hampton School Athletic Hall of Fame. He serves on the board of trustees for the New Hampton School (his alma mater)and the Mayhew Program (which provides opportunities for at-risk New Hampshire boys), and he is president of the Newfound Lake Region Association.
