Economist leading or part of multi-disciplinary teams for investment project preparation in agriculture and fishery sectors, in partnership with Financial Institutions (World Bank, IFAD, Caribbean Development Bank, EBRD AfDB), with focus on value chain projects and climate change adaptation. Participated or lead Regional Agriculture Investment Strategy preparation, sector analytical work, and country investment planning, including Developing Banks’ Agriculture Strategies, CAADP processes, National Agricultural Investment Plans (NAIPs), Agriculture sector wide approach (SWAPs) and Country Strategic Opportunity Paper (COSOPs). Core activities include: identification and preparation of investment projects and programmes; feasibility assessment of the proposals through studying market prospects, prices, costs and risks, and carrying out financial and economic analysis; evaluated performance of investment projects/ programmes during implementation, and their impact after completion; development of the project logical/results framework, the monitoring and evaluation system, and the costing of investment operations; interacted at working level with government officials, development partners and beneficiaries to facilitate exchange of critical information and validate the findings and recommendations regarding the investment proposals. Countries of work experience include: Argentina, Azerbaijan, Barbados, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guyana, Jamaica, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Peru, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda. Recent analysis work: Study on the State of agriculture in the Caribbean; inclusive business models with smallholders in agriculture and the impact of FDI to agriculture; economic and financial evaluation of innovative approach to development; the Purchase for Progress initiative (P4P) implemented by WFP (country case studies for Tanzania and Mali); and the European Union Food Facility ex-post economic assessment of FAO supported projects.
