About Robyn Adelkopf

I graduated from Wake Forest University in May 2019 with a double major in Health & Exercise Science and Psychology and a minor in Biology, Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. My time at Wake Forest was enriched with research, specifically a weight loss and exercise intervention for older adults with knee osteoarthritis. My initial role involved recruiting participants through phone screenings and assisting participants at exercise sessions, but I eventually became a lead exercise interventionist. This experience contributed to my Honors thesis investigating demographic and psychosocial predictors of exercise adherence, and I graduated with Honors in Health & Exercise Science. I presented my findings at the Southeast American College of Sports Medicine conference. I was involved with and held leadership positions in numerous other organizations at Wake Forest. I was an active member of Hillel, the Jewish student organization; I served as Engagement Intern, Vice President, and Religious & Education Chair. I volunteered at a local middle school as a mentor to seventh grade girls, and had the additional responsibility of training the 49 Wake Forest student mentors. I also enjoyed playing the violin as a first violinist in the University Orchestra and as a member of the Reynolda Strings Quartet.My interest in health promotion as well as my strong interpersonal skills and desire to advocate for others drew me to nursing. I graduated in December 2020 from the University of Connecticut's Accelerated BSN program as Valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA and Sigma Theta Tau honors.
