About Robyn Carlson

Veteran educator with a broad range of experience in urban, rural and suburban public and private schools having held positions in both elementary & middle school teaching and district level administration. Research interests include informal learning, teacher knowledge, mentoring, instructional coaching, teacher education focused on preservice and induction phase teachers and examining the work of both collaborative teachers and university based field instructors and K-12 professional development. Currently an advanced doctoral candidate in Teacher Education working as a graduate research assistant on studies related to informal learning opportunities for middle school science teachers in cultural institutions and their influence on teaching practice and student learning. I am also serving my second term as the Graduate Student Council Program Chair for the American Educaitonal Reserach Association and as Chair of the AERA GSC Community Service Project that is focused on creating a community mural in Vancouver, B.C. in collaboration with the SAME Project. Interested in work at college or university level as both tenure track professor and researcher.
