About Robyn Dean

I completed a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada) in August 2017. Throughout my education I have always imagined myself in a career where I can make a real difference in preventing or researching crime and have therefore become increasingly interested in Forensic Psychology. I am particularly interested in female offenders (including trends and explanations of female crime) and gendered explanations of criminal activity. I am also interested in adolescent-perpetrated crime and the effects of dysfunctional relationships (familial, platonic, and romantic) on future criminal activity and recidivism. In an ideal world, I would love to work with adolescent female offenders and assist in tailoring treatment programs for the purposes of rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. Some of my experience includes managing local investigations, preparing statistical analyses of data from incident investigation reports, drafting and preparing documents to send to offenders and next-of-kin, as well as upper management such as Investigations Analysts, the Director General of the Incident Investigations Branch (CSC), the Senior Deputy Commissioner of CSC, and the Commissioner of CSC. In addition, I have experience gathering information on offender case management, taking minutes, filing, sorting, mailing protected and classified documents, editing and verifying reports, and data entry. Finally, I would like to conclude that I am passionate about evoking positive change in the correctional field and am open to any opportunities that would allow me to reach this goal.
