My career started in the Dairy Industry as a research technician. Whilst I enjoyed the technical aspects of this position I particularly enjoyed the people contact and sharing of ideas so I moved to work for DairyNZ as a Consulting Officer. This position involved using extension techniques to assist farmers to better their businesses. This position and my managers role at DairyNZ highlighted my interest in business management and after tutoring farmers in business planning and management I became involved in the set up and running of our own company - Paragon - Insurance Solutions for Life. Whilst now in the insurance industry we continue to work in the rural sector and my skills are now tested in terms of planning, managing and inspiring others within our business.
