I began my career in Oil & Gas as a student in 2001 at Petrofund. I worked 4 summers at Petrofund and upon graduation I was offered a full time position. I worked for 1 year at Petrofund as an Exploitation Engineer. In 2006, Petrofund and Penn West merged. A former Petrofund VP brought me to Pengrowth as an Exploitation Engineer. I was given my own area to manage. I had to create development budgets and was responsible for the project management of these budgets, which included both volumes and capital. I also looked after the reserves for my area. I had to make presentations to the President and VP's of the company on a regular basis. I was also involved in a few acquisition and disposition packages. In 2009, I switched from Exploitation to Production Engineering. In Production, I was responsible for improving well and field performance as well as ensuring regulatory well compliance with the AER. My experience at Pengrowth led me to a position at AvenEx in 2011. This was an exciting change for me as I was going to a Junior company for the first time. At AvenEx, I started off splitting the company production with another engineer but towards the end of my time there, I was doing the entire company, 3800 boe/d. At AvenEx, I got lots of different experience including Production, Exploitation, Regulatory, Joint Ventures, and Business Development. As the only engineer not in a leadership role, I got to experience many aspects of the oil and gas industry. In 2013, AvenEx merged with Pace and Charger to make a new company named Spyglass. I was hired by Spyglass as a Production Engineer. I worked at Spyglass until 2013 when I had my first baby and took 1 year of maternity leave. Upon my return, I was hired as an Exploitation Engineer. I worked another year until I had my second baby and went on maternity leave. While on my second maternity leave, our family decided to sell everything and take a trip around the world. We travelled to 21 countries and had the experience of a lifetime. Since returning from travelling, I took two consulting jobs, helping companies with short-term needs. I had worked with a Prairie Provident VP at both AvenEx and Spyglass when he called to ask for my help. I was responsible for writing a technical document for the company from scratch. I am currently a Senior Exploitation Engineer for Conifer Energy. Conifer has the ex-Pengrowth Swan Hills trend including Judy Creek, Carson Creek, Deer Mountain, and House Mountain, as well as the Redwater field.
