About Robyn Ormerod

Modern Slavery, Business & Human Rights | ESG | global supply chains I am a cross-sector specialist with over 12 years of experience in human rights, including 8 years focused specifically on addressing and preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. My work spans across government, civil society, and the private sector, with a strong track record in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that mitigate exploitation and promote sustainable, human rights–based outcomes. I have led efforts to build capacity across business sectors, strengthen government policy and legislation and integrate human rights due diligence (HRDD) and ESG principles into corporate operations and global supply chains—particularly in agriculture, healthcare, fashion, communications technology, and cleaning services. With a foundation in direct service provision, I bring a grounded understanding of the real-world risks faced by vulnerable populations and the practical strategies needed to reduce those risks. I actively collaborate with governments, businesses, and civil society, and centre the voices and lived experiences of people at risk of exploitation in all aspects of my work. I am particularly committed to advancing the role of business in modern slavery mitigation, ultimately prevention, and embedding long-term, human rights-respecting practices into operations. I have co-designed and delivered tailored HRDD training programs for multinational enterprises and their suppliers, with a focus on protecting the human rights of migrant workers.
