About Robyn Young

I am a Government Contract Specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs NCO 19, currently on the Construction team. I spent nearly 28 years in the Wyoming National Guard, retiring in February of 2017. I spent 19 years in the 67th Army Band, and I served as a squad leader, group leader and First Sergeant. My final position was as a Master Sergeant in Joint Forces Headquarters as a Senior Financial Management Technician. Additionally, I am an avid musician. I believe that music education and continuing community music participation provides a valuable outlet for musicians and community members alike. Music is something that is inherently important in our society, and ultimately makes everyone involved, whether participant or listener, more complete. It brings us together in a way nothing else can, and we must work hard to preserve it in a time when its importance is consistently challenged and questioned. My volunteer opportunities include Orchestra Musician and Conductor for the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players, Board member of the Cheyenne Civic Concert Band Board, Principal Trombone player for the Capital City Brass, Leader of the Cheyenne Trombone Ensemble, and organizer of the Capitol City Christmas Band.
