As the Assistant Director for CROS (Christians Reaching Out to Society) Ministries, Gleaning program, my responsibilities include but are not limited to food recovery, volunteer recruitment, data management, and social media networking."Gleaning" is a food recovery strategy that allows produce that is below top market grade or unmarketable, but equally nutritious and beneficial to be harvested and distributed to the food insecure of Palm Beach and Martin Counties instead of being plowed back into the soil. Since people live apart from where their food is grown, gleaning requires volunteers who will bridge the gap between the field and the pantry to bring food to locations where persons in need can receive it. Farmers donate the produce they cannot sell to CROS Ministries. Volunteers gather the produce. Our food-distributing partners then distribute the recovered produce to local agencies with feeding programs for individuals and families with low-incomes, seniors, people with disabilities, and the homeless. The food is given away free of charge. I am proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, as well as QuickBooks. I have experience with purchasing, inventory, receiving, order processing (including invoicing) and shipping. In addition, I have experience in reconciling, collections, supervising employees, employee training, designing and implementing employee motivation programs. I'm a Notary since Finally, I have experience with Video Editor and can create, produce and publish media clips, promotions, offers and advertisements. I was appointed to the Village of Palm Springs Recreation Board, were I sat for nine years holding positions as an Alternate, the Secretary and the Vice Chairperson and was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” by the Palm Springs Kiwanis Club. I was the Co-President of the John I. Leonard Football Booster Club from 2008 to 2011. I am the Laity Leader for my church, Lakeside United Methodist where my family and I have attended for forty (plus) years. I have also volunteered as the Director of Community Events & Vacation Bible School Activities for the last twelve years. Fun fact about me - In 2017 I became both a Certified Barista & a Live Organ Donor.
