About Rocio Celeste Hernandez

Celeste Martinez is currently serving as Social Studies Department Chair at Sam Houston Math, Science and Technology Center in Houston, TX. This is her third consecutive year as Department Chair as well as her sixth year as a Psychology teacher. She has previously worked for Advise TX as a College Recruitment Adviser where her mission was to get students motivated and prepared for post-secondary education. Her years of service with Advise TX taught her grace and humility and also enhanced her strong listening, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and time management skills. Her experience in higher education has become a path that has helped her towards her calling of helping students overcome obstacles and challenges in education. Celeste studied at Texas A&M University and graduated in May 2011 with a degree in Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Master's of Education in Counseling and Development with a specialty in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling at Lamar University.
