About Rocky Ranch

I grew up in Colorado and moved to the western slope in 1976. I became a born-again believer in Jesus Christ at the age of 16 and He continues to transform my life. I graduated from high school in Hotchkiss, CO. I went to college at Pillsbury Bible College in Owatonna, Mn thinking I would go into ministry full time and later realized this was not my gifting. I graduated with a B.S. in Biblical studies/ministry with minors in history, and electronics. While in college, I worked during the summers for Dakota County Telephone Company in Colorado. I met my wife (Joanne) as a junior in college and wed shortly after we graduated. She has been a constant source of help and encouragement over the years. We are blessed with three faithful, productive, and grown children that have given us eight grandchildren. I founded Prowire part time in 1987 after working as a lineman and later installing Cable TV. I saw opportunity in many new homes that were not wired properly. Prowire's wiring and system solutions grew to include security, fire, phone systems, access control and other technology-based systems. 2004 - 2008 downturn in housing caused Prowire to reposition as primarily a commercial vendor. My employees and partner run the day-to-day operation as I have stepped aside to focus on real estate. In 2003, I built a commercial building under the umbrella of RJR Enterprises, LLC and have since expanded the portfolio to include 7 other commercial properties and 42 tenants. I manage these properties with the help of Joanne doing the bookkeeping and my son's advice as partner. In the summer of 2024, I become a licensed real estate agent and am presently work full time as an independent real estate agent for Cerron Properties LLC in Lakeville, MN. I served as deacon and later as elder at Eden Baptist Church and continue in that role today. I served as building committee chair for the new building at 1313 Hwy 13, Burnsville and have been able to use my flexibility of self-employment to help in various areas including teaching 4th, 5th and 6th graders.
