About Rod Beecham

I have delivered 25 projects, on time and on budget, across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. These have ranged from efficiency-gain initiatives (visual collaboration tools, supply chain optimisation, activity-based costing) to major strategic undertakings (Ericsson’s Asia-Pacific Network Operations Centre, ThoughtWeb’s sales operations, The Salvation Army’s information management). I have employed all major project management approaches: Waterfall (State Bank Victoria, Telstra), PMBOK (Ericsson), PRINCE2 (Acumen Alliance, IDP), Scrum and Agile (IDP Education, Moore Stephens). My book, Project Governance: The Essentials, was solicited and published by IT Governance Publishing in the U.K. in 2011. I have analysed and re-engineered business processes in preparation for project development and delivery at Zetaris, ThoughtWeb, Moore Stephens, BP and many other client sites. IIBA’s Business Analysis Competency Model has informed this work. My most recent roles have been focused on information and knowledge management, including:> Driving an integrated approach to the identification, evaluation, retrieval and sharing of enterprise information assets,> Collecting and managing information from one or more sources and distributing that information to one or more audiences, and > Identifying and realising opportunities for smoother procedures, more efficient workflows, and overall business growth. I have successfully navigated organisational environments ranging from the strongly hierarchical (Trinity College Pathways School, the University of Melbourne, The Salvation Army) to the ‘flat’ (GE Capital, ThoughtWeb, Zetaris). I have been recognised by senior leadership as an authority in establishing and nurturing collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. I have employed both the Kotter and ADKAR models to ensure that my projects are not merely delivered but take root in the organisation. I have taught Project Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate level at Melbourne and Monash universities. Identifying, structuring, monitoring, optimising, realising and evaluating project benefits underpins my approach to every aspect of project management.
