About Rod Claycomb

During my career, I've always been at the forefront of taking science and research outcomes to market. My first role at DDx in Denver, Colorado, involved working in the ag sector to combine my knowledge of animal biology and sensors to commercialise a heat detection technology known then as Heat Watch (now off patent and marketed today as Estrotect). In I was recruited by DEC International to head up their research team in New Zealand and after a few years DEC spun out our research division into its own company, Sensortec. Following my departure from the business in 2006, the company's technologies went on to be bought by LIC and then later was onsold to MSD Animal Health. Following my stint at Sensortec, I went on to co-found Quantec with my business partner Judy Bragger. We built this business together from conception to commercialisation and the business is very successful today, marketing its patented milk proteins to customers in markets around the globe. While I remain a shareholder and director at Quantec, in 2023 I took a further step back from the day-to-day operations. This has allowed me time to focus on additional consulting contracts, through my consulting business Delink, and the ability to further my governance career.
