About Rod Rolfe

Originally starting my career in 1975 with the Wormald group of companies. My work experience over the lasts 45+ years has mainly been in management and technical roles in the fire protection industry from being an installer of fire alarm system and sprinkler systems, inspection & testing of all systems, emergency service work, commissioning, designing, project management, estimating, sales, training and senior business management. From this wealth of experience, I consider myself a generalist in all factors of fire protection systems.Due to my experience and expertise I serve on several technical committees such Australian Standards FP 002 committee and FPA Australia’s technical committees. I have received recognition for my services over the years and recently awarded the Fire industry's two main precious awards being The “Barry Lee Technical Excellence” award in 2017 and the A.V. Viscogliosi award in 2010; I am the only recipient who has received both of these awards. As part of my work life, I have gained several qualifications from formal and informal courses at University and TAFE in technical and management qualifications. My current role requires a high level of interpersonal and organisational skills as well as technical expertise to contribute actively to the organisation’s vision and strategic goals. In my day-to-day activities I could be training a person on how to do an activity relating to AS 1851, giving technical advice on how to apply an Australian Standard for a job requirement, technically reviewing a technical bulletin or providing technical information to a client or undertaking building assessment and/or design as a accreditor designer and assessor.
