About Rod Ward

I am an IT Executive / Manager, Executive Consultant, Organizational "coach" and Business/IT Strategist, with over 30 years of experience at leadership, managerial, operational and executive levels. My background includes a wide range of practical experience across various organizations, including both public-sector and private-sector. I have strong skills in developing and maintaining relationships across all parts of organizations; with client groups and client executives; and with business partners such as vendors and other external service providers. My consulting and facilitation focus is built around positive approaches to organizational culture development, and focusing on the strengths of individuals and teams. I have extensive experience working with Senior Management/Executive teams; in assisting large public and private sector organizations in Service Management initiatives; and in organizational transformations. I also led the creation and development of both the technical operations (Production Operations division) and the service management capabilities (Service Management division) for the largest e-Health initiative in Ontario history (Smart Systems for Health Agency, now eHealth Ontario). Prior to that, I ran my own successful IT services company for 10 years. My experience includes successfully building, leading, and transforming organizations from both the ‘ground-up’ (inside) and strategic levels (as a consultant). I have proven over time my leadership abilities in assuming accountability and leading organizational direction. My skillset includes excellent communications skills (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to embed vision and lead transformation at all organizational levels.
