Background

About Rodney Diergaardt

I am a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) with over 25 years of experience in IT, working across Southern Africa, Europe, the United States, and Haiti, in high-pressure environments where failure is not an option. My background spans hands-on engineering and senior operational responsibility, including time as an IT Manager supporting USAID operations. Following a USAID funding withdrawal, I returned to a delivery-focused role, bringing with me a strong governance, risk, and operational discipline mindset. Most of my career has been spent keeping systems stable when the cost of failure is real — financially, operationally, and reputationally. I’ve learned that effective technology leadership is built on judgment, preparation, and accountability, not noise. My work sits at the intersection of cybersecurity, cloud, identity, and enterprise operations. I focus on building secure, resilient environments and translating technical risk into clear, practical decisions that hold under pressure.I lead quietly, take ownership, and prioritise stability over visibility. When pressure rises, my role is to ensure that systems and decisions hold.
