About Rodney E. Hood

I am a financial services executive and independent board director with nearly three decades of experience in banking, regulation, and financial inclusion. I had the privilege of serving as Acting Comptroller of the Currency and as Chairman of the National Credit Union Administration — becoming the first person in U.S. history to lead both federal regulatory agencies responsible for insured depository institutions. In these roles, I also served on the FDIC Board, the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), and as Chairman of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC). Today, I bring this experience to boardrooms and advisory roles shaping the future of financial services. I serve as an Independent Director on the boards of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, and Zest AI, and on the International Advisory Board of Strategic Resource Management. I also support fintech innovators as a Board Observer for Vestwell and ModernFi. My earlier career includes senior positions with JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, GE Capital, NationsBank (now Bank of America), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Recognized as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and Salzburg Global Fellow, I frequently engage with regulators and central bankers across the UK, EU, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. I am also a frequent author and speaker, with work published in the Wall Street Journal, American Banker, and other outlets. My career reflects a commitment to sound regulation, responsible growth, and expanding access to capital so that individuals, families, and communities can thrive.
