About Rodney G. Moore

With a strong in-house and outside counsel background, Rodney brings a unique and practical perspective to issues critical to the evolving workplace. As an experienced litigator, he represents corporations, emerging businesses, and public agencies as lead counsel in federal and state court employment litigation, class and collective actions, labor arbitrations, and administrative proceedings. He regularly assists management in responding to claims in all areas of employment law, including overtime and other wage and hour claims brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and similar state statutes; Title VII (including Retaliation claims); the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); whistleblower matters; and claims and hearings brought under collective bargaining agreements. He has tried cases to verdict both in federal and state courts. Rodney also routinely assists clients in responding to investigations by government agencies such as the EEOC and state equivalents. In an era where employers are striving to be more socially responsible, Rodney specifically enjoys strategizing with and counseling his clients to assure that the results achieved are consistent with the client’s core values. In addition to his reputation representing corporations and emerging businesses, Rodney is also considered one of the leading education lawyers in America. He previously served as General Counsel of the Atlanta Public Schools, General Counsel for the Shelby County Board of Education (Shelby County Schools in Memphis, Tennessee), and General Counsel of the East Side Union High School District—the largest high school district in Silicon Valley. Rodney uses his past in-house experience to assist K-12 schools and colleges and universities in responding to concerns arising out of various federal requirements, including Title IX and Title VI; he also provides educational entities with general legal advice and counsel, and strategic input, on day-to-day legal and business issues. Rodney is a proud member of the California, Georgia & Tennessee Bars, and is admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court.
