About Rodney Goodchild

Originally from Northern Ireland, family ties first brought me to the Okanagan in 2001, and the visit made such an impact that I returned five years later for good. Currently residing in Vernon with my partner Gabrielle and our three dogs. During my years here, I have fully immersed myself in the community at leadership levels in both my professional and volunteer life. I presently hold the role of Centre Manager for the Vernon Community Arts Centre under the Arts Council of the North Okanagan. Previously I was the Executive Director for the Sport & Culture Society of the North Okanagan, Games Office Manager for the 2019 Vernon Special Olympics BC Winter Games, and for ten years played a pivotal role in the success of Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery as their Marketing & Operations Manager. As a volunteer, I have served (serving) on the board and committees for many member-run organizations, including the VantageOne Credit Union, City of Vernon’s Economic Development Advisory Committee, Secretary for Kelowna Men’s Soccer League, and on the organizing committee for both the 2017 and 2019 55+ BC Games, 2019 Special Olympics BC Games and currently the Gibson Classic Soccer Tournament.
