About Rodolfo Pezzi

PhD Researcher in Sociology | Quantitative Social Research | Education & Inequality I am a PhD researcher in Sociology, specialising in the sociology of education and social inequality. My research explores how structural disadvantages shape children’s cognitive development, mental health, and life chances, with a particular focus on socioeconomic disparities during key educational transitions. I study how the home learning environment mediates these effects using longitudinal data and quantitative methods. More broadly, I am interested in the mechanisms that drive unequal educational achievement and shape school-to-work transitions. My work combines statistical analysis with critical perspectives on stratification, care, and the reproduction of inequality. I also engage with broader questions of social justice, including the intersection of care and capitalism and hegemonic masculinity. Inspired by thinkers such as Silvia Federici, Raewyn Connell, Judith Butler, and David Graeber, I reflect on how structural change can emerge through everyday practices and collective imaginaries.
