About Rodrigo Fuentes

I am a Professor of Economics at the Institute of Economics in the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a member of the Editorial Board of Applied Economics. I hold a Ph.D. and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), a BA in Economics, and an MSc in Finance from Universidad de Chile. My previous job positions were Associate Dean for Economic Studies in the PUC, Senior Economist at the Research Department of the Central Bank of Chile, Dean of the Graduate School of Economics and Business, and Assistant Professor in the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile. I have been a visiting professor at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), AB Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, and the National University of Tucumán. I have been a consultant for the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, as well as for international and Chilean government agencies and the Chilean private sector. The areas of research and consulting are related to economic growth, international trade, macroeconomics, climate change, banking, and finance. I have published papers in domestic and international journals like the Journal of Development Economics, Economic Development and Cultural Change, World Economy, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Review of World Economics, and Economic Modelling.
