About Roel Toonen

I am a results-oriented and people-oriented Road Safety Engineer / Transport Planner. In 2015 I started at Arcadis in Qatar as an assistant project manager on the Metro Goldline. After about 1 year, I resumed my full-time traffic engineering activity. I have approximately 15 years of experience in a wide range of traffic-related projects. I have an eye for conflicting interests and weigh them carefully. I identify bottlenecks on time, save them and adjust them if necessary. During my career, I have gained expertise throughout the entire life cycle of assets, from initiative to implementation and realization. That is why I am quickly able to provide analyzes and to point out the differences and changes that occur during the engineering process. I am used to leading engineering processes in a structured way from the beginning to the end. Since 2020, I have returned to Arcadis Nederland B.V. where I work on projects with a traffic engineering component. The focus in my projects is on area development, transport planning with a design task and/or road safety.
