About Roezl Calixtro

My name is Roezl Calixtro and I study Politics, French and Spanish at the University of Sheffield. Since 2021, I have gained work experience in different fields, from Childcare to Hospitality to Beauty. My first job was at Subway as a Sandwich Artist from May - August 2021, where I learned different combinations of ingredients for specific sandwiches through an extensive online training course in order to enhance my knowledge of the importance of food safety & preparation in the workplace. It opened my insight in the world of work as well as helping me become confident in learning how to work efficiently as a team during very busy and intense times. In May 2021, I had joined Humly (formerly known as Eyears) as a Nursery Nurse/ Childcare Assistant, where I adapted to working along children between the ages of 0-5 and ensured to cater towards children’s dietary requirements to prevent any accidents. This position allowed me to venture into Child development as I underwent an online course and gained a Level 3 CDP certified qualification in Children Safeguarding. In July 2021, I had joined the Haps Solutions Group Agency and experienced different working roles from Bartending to Waiting to Retail staff at several events and venues. Working from various places like Doncaster Racecourse to the Tramlines Festival in Sheffield has allowed me to develop my communication skills more effectively and be able to work swiftly and smoothly in a fast pace environment with new people as a team and independently. In October 2022, I studied a lash extension course as I have always been interested in learning and understanding the work of lash extensions in the beauty industry as I get those treatments done too and in November 2022, I became a qualified lash technician in both Classic and Russian lashes. With this confidence, I started my own lash extension business with the help of Instagram and began my own lash page, where I have experimented with new marketing techniques and analytics. Since June 2023, I have began working with Teacher Active. My curiosity and independence has allowed me to venture out in these different fields of work, which has allowed me to adapt quickly and integrate smoothly and I feel that my it mirrors my studies as languages depends on me to communicate with new people and politics allows me to understand the world much better.
