About Roger Mainor

Roger Mainor, though Southern by association, has his roots in rural Missouri and Pittsburgh. A bit of a modern nomad, Roger studied architecture and interior architecture at Auburn University where he did a semester abroad in Europe and participated in the Rural Studio program for his thesis, researching methods of building that incorporated underutilized local wood products. He received his post-professional Master of Architecture from Cornell University, focusing on history, theory, and discourse, and shortly after graduating joined the Van Alen Institute – a New York City architectural nonprofit – as a consultant and then program manager, coordinating their communications, social media, public events, and design archive. Roger is most interested in alternative models of architecture practice that address issues and groups not adequately served by normal practice.
