About Rohan Deshmukh

I'm the son of a self made man from Rural Solapur, Maharashtra. He ensured that I got a decent education because he didn't. Including an Under Grad Degree from Rochester University, NY, USA. I could've chosen to continue with my education. Continued being in the USA or for that matter anywhere else. Instead, I chose to come back to my roots. India was changing. Almost like a sleeping giant awakening from a long slumber. The signs were everywhere. New Jobs being created by new industries that we had never even heard about. Technology was changing. Mindsets were changing. Sure, these things happened before, too. But they never impacted these rural parts as much as they are doing now. This bottom of the pyramid strata of our society which produces the most - considering we are an agrarian economy - is most ignored in terms of education, in terms of infrastructure, in terms of facilities in healthcare, sanitation and hygiene, in terms of financial inclusion and in terms of developing it's women. I wanted to make a change. I believe that change is only possible when we begin to participate in that change. Change becomes possible when involvement happens. That's what I'm beginning to work upon. A Rural Transformation that'll enable unprecedented growth. My journey has only begun. I'll be happy to connect with anyone who's got a passion for this country, this motherland of ours and who wants to contribute in any which way that you possibly can. Contribution isn't about money. It's about ideas. Its about serving this country by caring about her people. It's about joining hands to tell this country - Hum Saath Hai. Jai Hind.
