About Rohan Panday

I'm a BSE and MSE Electrical Engineering student at the University of Pennsylvania with a deep passion for power electronics, batteries, and power systems architecture. Over the past few years, I've had the opportunity to immerse myself in various hands-on projects and internships that have honed my technical skills and reinforced my love for these fields. This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at SpaceX with the Starship High Voltage Test team. I led fault injection testing on Super Heavy Boosters, redesigned the power system for a dyno test rack, and executed high-power battery qualification tests. These experiences not only deepened my technical knowledge but also solidified my commitment to working in environments that push the boundaries of what's possible in engineering. At Penn Electric Racing, I lead the Electrical Hardware team and previously led design and implementation of critical components for our Formula SAE electric race car’s battery management, power, and charging systems. This role has allowed me to apply my skills in Altium Designer, LTSpice, power electronics, and batteries to create reliable, efficient systems that enhance the vehicle's performance. My work on redesigning minion sensors, charging infrastructure, and connector boards has led to significant improvements in safety, serviceability, and debugging efficiency. My work as lead has exposed me to electrical system design (HV and LV) and electromechanical integration. In addition to my hands-on engineering work, I’m also a Teaching Assistant for ESE 2150 (Electrical Circuits and Systems), where I help guide students through the introductory course for electrical and computer engineering. This role has allowed me to develop my communication and leadership skills while sharing my passion for learning and teaching with others. My goal is to continue leveraging my knowledge and skills in power electronics, batteries, and power systems architecture to contribute to innovative projects that have a real-world impact. I’m eager to work in environments where cutting-edge technology and passionate teams come together to solve complex problems.
