About Rohan Rosen

Student at Bowdoin College pursuing a dual major in Government and Asian Studies. rrosen2@bowdoin.edu As a lifelong Alaskan, I developed a strong passion for public service and mental health advocacy. I worked alongside State House Representative Matt Claman to advocate for House Bill 60 and its companion, Senate Bill 80. This legislation will be a milestone achievement if passed, as it will institute a mental health education curriculum for 8th-grade students across Alaska's public school system. Equipping youth with knowledge and awareness of mental health has been a cause I care deeply about. I sought out opportunities to apply my voice in supporting mental health initiatives. I have served as a speaker, master of ceremonies, chair, and board member for Mental Health Advocacy Through Storytelling (MHATS)- a nonprofit dedicated to removing the stigma surrounding mental issues by sharing impactful narratives. Contributing my time as a leader and spokesperson for MHATS has been tremendously rewarding. Now, after my first year of College, I have a newfound interest in multi-cultural engagement and international relations. I am a board member of the Japanese Student Association at Bowdoin College.
