About Rohan Tregear

Rohan is an experienced engineering consultant having worked in a number of rail engineering fields including structural, civil, track, signalling, electrical overhead, operations and maintenance. Rohan has a good appreciation of the various requirements in each discipline and their inter-relationship. This broad knowledge is essential to manage large multidisciplinary rail projects where there are many cross dependencies and issues critical to each discipline to be resolved. Rohan’s particular expertise is in structural steel design; however, he is also experienced in all facets of structural design in other materials and has been engaged on projects ranging from timber trestle bridge pier design, through the complex theoretical analysis of masonry arches, to design in prestressed and post-tensioned concrete. This extensive design background informs Rohan’s appreciation for the management of existing structural assets. He has undertaken hundreds of structural inspections, condition assessments and load ratings that have resulted in refined recommendations for the ongoing management and rehabilitation of these assets. Rohan is also an experienced auditor, has an excellent appreciation of management systems and was Opus Rail’s Quality Manager for almost 10 years. In this role he was responsible for maintaining ISO9001:2008 certification which included: planning and conducting internal audits; analysing and documenting business processes; and reporting on recommendations and findings to management.
