In its most basic form, communication is the broadcasting of messages between people, groups, communities, and organizations that generate meanings of expressions, emotions, and understandings, to gain acceptance and agreements, trust and confidence, sharing of knowledge and information, teachings and learnings, Those are the positives. Conversely, improper communication delivered haphazard by people, groups, communities and organizations and can have equally adverse effects of on people, groups, communities and organizations. Wrong communication can start and escalate disputes and disagreements, and ignite negative emotions leading to altercations and even start wars between nations. At best they are ignore but never forgotten. Unlike a commodity, what is communicated cannot be retracted.or returned. People can forgive but never forget. And those are the negatives. That is why we choose to recognize communication as a discipline rather than merely a profession or business. It is not a job but a responsibility to communicate with accuracy. purpose, confidence, authenticity, with the awareness, sensitivity and understanding of the target audiences cultures, traditions and perceptions in whatever form they are delivered.
