About Roland Burns

Experienced Estimator and Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the construction industry for over 22 years. Grew up in the industry having a father who owns a construction company as well a grandfather that owned a flooring company. One or the other had him on job-sites as soon as he could walk. Started in labor and blessed to have some of the best specialized tradesmen around teach him their trade. At some point he has performed every trade possible in custom home building. From dry stacking rock for 40’ fire places to setting 45’ plus log columns. Even constructed the log/ timber trusses spanning 30’ that those columns would support. Built custom wood decks, roofs, poured many concrete pads, and put up every type of fencing made. And much more. After a few serious injuries on the job, he was forced to come to the conclusion that his body couldn’t take much more. So he turned to his education and took an interest in estimating and project management. To date Roland is confidently skilled in many trades but especially proficient when estimating Spray Applied Fireproofing, Intumescent, Fire Stopping, Stucco, EIFS and Venetian Plaster. Experience in Value Engineering, Estimating projects up to $6 million and Managing these projects. Proficient in Change Orders. Novice at Contract Negotiations and pay applications. Strong program and project management professional.
