Roland is a high achieving young professional with a strong interest in Investments and Financial markets, including Mergers and Acquisitions and Client Services. He has completed a Master of Commerce specialising in Finance, an Honours Degree in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management (distinction), and a Bachelor of Commerce. He has also completed CFA Levels 1 and 2, and he is currently a CFA Level 3 candidate. He has a strong understanding and preparation of financial analysis, data management, valuation and modelling techniques. Furthermore, he is motivated, ambitious, enjoys problem solving, learns new concepts quickly, and has a keen eye for detail. Roland is highly relationship orientated, with excellent stakeholder and client servicing skills. In addition, he has an entrepreneurial spirit, is client-focused, principle-driven, and strongly values collaboration, transparency, inclusion, and diversity. Roland has completed a range of finance-related part-time and contract positions while he has been studying, including as lecturer, teaching assistant, financial corporate trainer, research analyst in the consulting sector, and intern for Investec in South Africa. He speaks English at first language speaker level, as well as fluent French, basic German, and other languages. He has an excellent communication skills and command of English, both written and verbal. Additionally, he has strong presentation and IT skills, including MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and a good working knowledge of Python, SQL, R, VBA, machine learning, and cloud-based technologies such as Xero.
