About Roma Patel

As a member of the Healthcare Privacy and Compliance team, I work with clients within the healthcare industry on a broad range of privacy and cybersecurity matters. I handle comprehensive responses to a wide variety of cybersecurity incidents, including business email compromises, network intrusions, inadvertent disclosures and ransomware attacks. I understand the distinct dynamics of healthcare organizations and guide clients through initial response, forensic investigation, and regulatory obligations in a manner that balances legal risks, organizational needs, and patient care considerations.I also assist our healthcare clients with other HIPAA and privacy issues, including responding to patient complaints, advising on ACA Section 1557 nondiscrimination compliance, counseling on health information access matters, and guiding providers through compliance related to use of website tracking/advertising technologies. I approach each matter with attention to detail, dedication and empathy. My goal is to provide responsive and effective counsel by understanding each client’s unique needs and circumstances.Beyond work, I am passionate about wellbeing and mindfulness. In my down time, you can find me at a Pilates class, reading a new psychological thriller book, in my kitchen trying a new recipe, or spending time with my friends and family.
