About Romaine Boyd

As an Adapted Physical Education Teacher at Guilford County Schools, I dedicated over 12 years to creating a diverse program tailored for exceptional children (EC) that included remedial, developmental, and modified activities. My passion was ensuring that every child had the opportunity to participate fully in physical education, fostering their growth and confidence through positive reinforcement and character education. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I currently serve as a Learning Excellence Specialist at High Point University, where I help students develop essential academic skills through personalized coaching and support, focusing on transitioning to a growth mindset. This role allows me to empower students to achieve their academic goals and enhance their overall learning experience. Previously, I served as a Board Member at THE ARC OF GREENSBORO, INC, where I worked to secure opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enabling them to achieve their goals in learning, living, working, and playing. I am pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from High Point University, building on my educational background, which includes a Master of Arts in Health and Physical Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. With skills in curriculum development, action planning, content creation, and fostering student success, I am committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of my students and the broader community.
