Dear Hiring Manager, I couldn't be more excited to send you this letter today, and couldn't be happier that I made the decision to pursue an education in Construction Management. With that being said all of the school in the world couldn't have taught me as much I have learned over the past few years working for Kiewit as a Field Engineer. During that time, I worked as a Pipe, Concrete, and Scaffold Field Engineer on industrial projects. Towards the end of my employment with Kiewit I spent 6 months working in Canada as a Scaffold Engineer, and learned through this experience that in order to be a productive, motivated employee I need to be able to see my family every once in a while. I didn't realize it at the time, but the lack of social gratification that i was missing from not seeing any of my family for extended periods of time affected my work negatively. Once I finally got back state side, and was shortly there after asked to leave for an extended assignment on the east coast, realized that I could not take it anymore. The unfortunate position I have found myself in is that my experience working for Kiewit from a project perspective is not relatable to alot of the work companies like yourself are doing. I tell you this because I want you to know that i am 100% committed to furthering my career, and will do whatever it takes to show you that I can be an asset to your team with skills that I have developed up to this point in my career. I am a hard worker with a CM degree from UCM, professional experience on both the private and public side of construction, and am motivated to make the most of my career. i understand the importance of what it takes to meet and exceed client expectations. I can assure you that it would not be a waste of your time to meet with me, even if it's just for half and hour so that I can help you to realize the value i can bring to your organization.
