About Ron Barkai

Ron is the director of The Israeli Civic Leadership Association, which is the is the umbrella organization of the third sector, non-profit organizations (NPO’s) throughout Israel. Since 1986 this organization has been dealing with a multitude of legislative and national issues that affect the activities of all the NPO’s from an overall perspective. Civic Leadership aims at making it easier for NPO’s in Israel to operate and to fulfil their goals. The association is a national, apolitical organization whose membership includes hundreds of NPO’s from throughout the country, each involved with a wide range of fields of content and endeavor. Served as COO at Shaharit - Creating Common Cause over 4 years. Lead organization’s budget and staff of 20 employees including senior leadership and mid-level management. In the last two years, also lead the organization’s spearhead program – The 120 program for multicultural political leadership. Specialized in capacity building in organizations created new models in Business development and government relations for NGOs. Formerly served as a Co-CEO at The Women's Courtyard, while the organization completed an intense leap into a nationwide organization, specializing in working with At-risk girls and young women. Prior to that, worked as head of organization development at "kav Hazinuk" Leadership program, and served as chief of staff for the Minister of Minority Affairs, Prof. Avishay Braverman.
