About Ron Moody

As Chief Medical Officer for Accenture Federal Services, I’m committed to delivering accessible, exceptional health care to military service members, their families, and those that serve them. I work with the Defense Health Agency, Veterans Administration, and other federal agencies, using best practices from across all industries to achieve outcomes that leverage data and pragmatic innovation. It is a responsibility I take seriously, born of personal and professional experience. For more than 20 years, I served my country in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Colonel. It continues today with my work in sharing outcome-based and data-driven improvements, leveraging current tools and state-of-the-art technology that promote a shift to Virtual First Strategy: A Virtual First mindset is critical today as more than 50 percent of veterans live in rural areas and general healthcare inequalities remain unaddressed while healthcare costs increase. What makes me most proud is not just the playbook and guiding principle that I’ve developed and continually update to maximize outcomes for patients. It is the impressive results we’ve achieved so far – more than VA video visits per month, with the milestone of one million clearly in sight. The pandemic has validated my views of the changing nature of health care and how to efficiently meet patient needs in a truly patient-centered fashion aligned to the Quadruple AIM. The pandemic destroyed myths and “best practices.” Healthcare has reached its Copernicus moment, where the person can be at the center of their healthcare; the doctor’s office is no longer the focus of every healthcare encounter. I know that reimagining healthcare can also eliminate provider burnout and staffing shortages. I am the father of three and grandfather of eight, but I remain a soldier. Facilitating the improvement of individual health and the healthcare system is my enduring mission.
