Not every project that comes my way is a thrill, but there are those special ones that make me jump out of bed early, eager to dive right in. The ones where time slips away unnoticed as I meticulously arrange the canvas, find that perfect retouched photo, balance the headline, and size up the subhead, all orchestrated to guide the viewer’s eye. The challenge of cracking that “visual problem” drives me, and I won’t rest until everything feels just right. That’s who I am. I’ve spent over two decades as a Creative Manager/Director, navigating the ever-shifting landscapes of graphic design, communication, and leadership. My creative journey has been ignited by passion for design, combined with an unwavering dedication to nurturing the growth of corporate identities and the individuals who bring them to life. As both a hands on designer and leader, I find great satisfaction in crafting designs that not only meet but exceed expectations, inspiring others to stretch their creative limits. I enjoy bringing together skilled teams that work well together to take on visual challenges directly. My leadership style is based on leading by example, sparking motivation, fostering strong work ethics, and propelling my team to strive for excellence. Currently, I head an in-house creative agency, a project in which my role has been pivotal over recent years. I’ve nurtured careers spanning copywriters, photo retouchers, junior and senior graphic designers, and project managers. We partner with leaders across various departments, addressing their visual needs in both print and digital realms. A predecessor once confided in me about their most fulfilling experience: nurturing budding artists, aiding their growth and development as designers, and witnessing them depart to advance their careers elsewhere. Today, I wholeheartedly understand the authenticity of that sentiment. My most cherished accomplishments involve guiding young graphic designers, observing their growth and skill-sets, and assisting them in reaching positions as art or creative directors at other lucky companies. My proudest achievement? Being the first in my family to venture beyond high school and secure a BFA in Graphic Design. Emerging from a hardworking, blue-collar family, my career choice of sitting behind a computer might surprise family and friends. Yet, this background has instilled an unwavering work ethic—pride, readiness for extended hours, and an unrelenting pursuit of satisfaction.
