About Ronald Beard

Ronald Beard has a master's degree in human services from Lincoln University in Oxford Pennsylvania. He also attended the University of Delaware for Sociology, Delaware Technical And Salem Community college for sociology and psychology. His GPA at Lincoln was 3.87an d he is a member of PI GAMMA MU International Honor Society of Social Science. He has been an International and Delaware certified alcohol and drug counselor in addition to an HIV/ AIDS certified counselor for more than 20 years. Mr. Beard was the Director of Field Research for the University of Delaware and Qualitative Data Coordinator for 11.5 years and 1.5 years respectively. His role consisted of managing numerous federal grants specific to data collection, assisting with grants, publishing articles, research associate training and implementing grants. He also served as the Program Director for Delaware's Crest program and State director and contract manager for the Delaware department of corrections, statewide substance abuse and mental health programs for approximately 9 years. He also functioned as the Director of program services and grant writer and manager for Rick Vanstory Resource Center, a day services and emergency shelter program for consumers diagnosed with severe persistent mental illness. He also served as an Governor appointed committee member for the Delaware department of corrections health care review committee and has received numerous awards and citations including the Lucien Blackwell award for community service against violence from Mayor Nutter. He has delivered numerous workshops and trainings throughout several states, including Lund, Sweden, and St, Croix VI.
