About Ronald Ben

As an experienced professional who has made significant contributions in the field of education, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) instruction and instructional technology integration, I have a passion for promoting active learning and engagement in underserved communities. My focus is on researching current trends and providing students with the necessary resources to develop 21st-century skills, enabling them to compete globally in an ever-changing and dynamic workforce. Currently, as a STEM Instructional Technologist at the Houston Independent School District (HISD), I collaborate with teachers, administrators, and instructional staff to effectively integrate technology into STEM curricula. This involves developing and implementing instructional strategies that ensure students actively engage with STEM subjects, utilizing technology tools and resources to facilitate their learning. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communications from Texas Southern University. While my career initially began in a different field, I later transitioned to teaching and obtained an alternative certification teaching certificate. I became a 4-8 generalist and taught sixth-grade science for several years. Drawing from my experiences, my professional goals include securing a position that allows me to utilize my skills and provide optimal STEM exposure to a diverse group of scholars.
