For more than 20 years I have been a teacher in primary school, teaching at 3 different schools in The Netherlands. It's great to realize what an enormous impact you can have on the children you are teaching. It's a big responsibility too! Through the years I have gradually specialized in realizing IT-integration. Setting up and managing Windows server systems, educational software and Activboards. And lately introducing tablets, Office 365 into the classroom. Because of this, many years ago I have become IT-coordinator for the VCOG, a group of 10 schools in the city of Groningen. Apart from coordinating the hard- and software in the organization, I work mainly at implementing educational software, Office 365and Surface tablets and instructing teachers how to use IT daily and how to use their Activboards. IT gives many wonderful opportunities for teachers and pupils alike, but you have to know how to use it. Our schools are currently migrating to Office 365. Some of the results of my work with the VCOG- All our schoolteachers have been extensively trained in using educational software and the Activboard - Office 365 and the Surface Pro 4 tablets are introduced into the organisation - Various pilot projects for the use of mobile devices and social media are underway - All schools work according to a unified administrative process, using the same software (ESIS)- IT plans and visions are frequently discussed among the board of directors so that continuation of the implementation process is secured Specialties: • Activboard, ActivInspire, ActivExpression and other Promethean devices • Implementing Microsoft products in Educational organizations • Training teachers in implementing IT in their schools • Public speaking • Motivating teachers • Setting up financial and operational IT-plans for primary schools and making sure they work!
