About Ronald Turner

Ron Turner is the CTO and co-founder of XpressRules® LLC, a company dedicated to tools for “business user enablement” and specializing in information access control. As a natural language linguist as well as a programming language expert, he comfortably inhabits both the human and machine domains. His two-fold career goal is to empower a human (1) to articulate—in his/her own language—directives to be enforced by a computer as well as (2) to automate those directives without any programming knowledge. Using a linguistics approach, XpressRules Studio directly confronts the large and growing Elephant In The Room for policy-based access control (PBAC): 1. How can a business user—a "civilian" without programming knowledge and without relying on IT—write computer-ready access policies? How can those policies—written with the BU’s natural language (including local vocabulary)—become computer-executable within seconds (not days or weeks)?
