Background
About Ronald Wohl
I was trained as a nurse with a lot of labor coaching to eventually to become a Nurse Midwife. I went into the U.S. Air Force as a 1st LT Nurse Corps, and did 2 years assigned to L&D. I was certified as an ASPO Certified Childbirth Educator.(Lamaze) and taught Childbirth Classes on the AF base for 2 years, and than in Charleston, S.C. for some 5 years. I worked 2 years as a professional Paramedic For Charleston County in S.C. Then my wife's health brought us back to Miami, FL where I taught paramedics at Miami-Dade College for 2 years, and than transferred into the Emergency Department of a medium sized hospital in South Miami-Dade County. After two years full time in the ER, I transferred to The University of Miami Miller Medical School to train senior medical students in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) procedures. Eventually we developed a unit of the Medical Training and Simulation Lab which eventually developed into the world renowned Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education. I also introduced Paramedics into this training environment which is now a large part of this facility's population. While here we conducted as many as 40 ACLS classes a year. Ten were senior medical student classes that I eventually converted from the weekend mode into a full 40 hour course. I returned to the ED full time working a weekend double Baylor shift format while trying to manage a free lance medical education company, writing several nursing CME courses authorized by the Florida Board of Nursing. This was under the auspices of the Medical Educators Diversified company. We were the BCLS provider for Eastern and Pan Am Airlines during the duration of this entity. Hurricane Andrew on August 24th, 1992 ended this effort when facilities and equipment were destroyed. Specialties: Adult Health Care, Urgent Care Services, Emergency Department Obstetrical Nursing. Paramedical Training BCLS & ACLS Training CME Curriculum, Free lance CE Instructor, ECG Instructor
