About Ronan Payne

Majoring in marketing and management at the University of Auckland, I have completed my bachelors degree in commerce. I am passionate about working with a team and leading people to succeed at their highest capabilities.My work experience involves tennis coaching at the Milford Tennis Club where I trained people of all ages including children and elderly people. This job gave me confidence to work with individuals and groups where they would learn from my prowess as I would teach them skills that I had learnt previously. I am currently employed at Snowplanet in Silverdale where I am a rentals and lift attendant, here I have learnt health and safety skills as there is a big responsibility on my shoulders due to me handing out correctly sized equipment and scanning the slope for anything dangerous occurring. I have also learnt further customer service skills as I am constantly serving people who may have questions or are generally looking to use the slope and need equipment.After I graduate from university I will be looking for a full-time commitment where I would ideally be working in a team at a marketing firm looking to work my way up to and eventually managing and leading a team of people.My career goals and aspirations are to make a positive impact on the lives of New Zealanders and others around the world by providing uplifting and convincing advertisements on products I truly believe will have a benefit on people's well-being.My interests and hobbies include skiing, travelling, sports and video games. I love the mountains and snow, which is where my passion for skiing comes from. Tennis is another hobby of mine as I enjoy following the ATP circuit and play competitively from time to time.Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I have recently obtained the skills to work remotely on applications such as zoom and programs such as spatial.io. These skills and programs have helped me work with many teams of people in my courses as we are able to collaborate on our assignments and easily communicate with each other without having to worry about the pandemic's restrictions.
