About Rong Ye
I am a chemist with a chemical engineering background and extensive experience in catalysis research.I earned my Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, where I focused on creating and studying new types of catalysts under the mentorship of Profs. Gabor A. Somorjai and F. Dean Toste. My research aimed to combine the best qualities of different types of catalysts.As a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University, I worked with Prof. Peng Chen on projects that combined chemistry and imaging techniques. This included studying how molecules interact with gold nanoparticles, understanding chemical reactions on single catalyst particles, and sequencing synthetic copolymers.Currently, I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan, continuing my research and mentoring young scientists.I am passionate about advancing scientific knowledge and enjoy both conducting research and helping the next generation of researchers.
