About Roni Green

I currently work as a Business Agent for Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 668, a role in which I represent many of the Local’s 1,500 Philadelphia workers in grievances, negotiations, and arbitrations. I have worked as a union staffer for 12+ years in several capacities, including Member Political Organizer and Field Organizer in Eastern Pennsylvania. In 2012, I was elected to serve the workers SEIU Local 668 represents as its Secretary-Treasurer for three years. During this time, I worked to strengthen internal financial controls and implement a membership signup campaign that added hundreds of new members to the Local. My union work began nearly 30 years ago, long before I became a union staffer. Beginning in the late Eighties, I worked as an Income Maintenance Caseworker (IMCW) for nearly 20 years at Glendale County Assistance Office (CAO), helping put some of Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable citizens on a path out of poverty. My experience gave me deep insight on the systemic challenges faced by working families struggling to attain financial security. While working at Glendale, I was an active union member, serving as a Chief Shop Steward, Member Political Organizer, statewide CAO committee member, and Executive Board member. I have been a Democratic Party Committeewoman in the 9th Ward, 38th District for 6 years. I have participated in numerous professional training programs, including Rockwood Leadership Academy, SEIU Institute for Change, and the AFL-CIO Union Leader Skills Program. I am the proud mother of two and an extremely proud grandmother of ten. I am strong advocate for change in our communities and refuse to believe that we can't do better!
